Moby Supply discovered that, with the sharpening services available in its market, the lifespan of a resharpened circular saw blade was approximately 40% that of a new blade, which is significantly lower. This situation affected the performance of its own saw blades and increased the cost of replacing them prematurely.
The company needed a solution that would allow for more precise, complete, and reliable sharpening, capable of restoring its circular saw blades to working condition identical to that of a brand-new tool.
The solution: Internal and external sharpening in a single setup
The ELITE AVB 750 allows the operator to sharpen both the internal and external edges of the saw teeth in a single setup. This capability provides complete sharpening of the saw blade while the operator is busy performing other tasks, rather than focusing on the machine.
In Panama, where many workshops only sharpen the internal edges of the saw blades, having this technology represents a significant advantage for Moby Supply: it allows them to internally control the sharpening quality, which improves the lifespan of the saw blade and increases the number of sharpenings possible on a single blade. With a single sharpening machine, they've achieved the same cutting time for a sharpened saw blade as for a new one, while the blade itself allows for up to twice as many sharpenings because both the back and the inside of the blade are now sharpened, completely renewing the cutting edge of the teeth.
